In MLB The Show 26, Team Affinity (TA) is a key part of building your roster and unlocking valuable rewards. If you’re looking to complete it faster, it’s all about efficiency. With the right approach, you can get through the grind quickly and maximize your rewards. Here’s a simple guide on how to do just that.

1. Start with All Moments

Before diving into full games, tackle the Team Affinity Moments for each team. These Moments are short, specific challenges that reward you with a large amount of points (around 10,000 per moment).

Completing these Moments right away will unlock Gold and Silver cards, which are essential for the next phase—stat-based missions. Knock these out first, and you’ll have a solid foundation for the rest of your progress.

2. Strategic Game Modes

After completing the Moments, it's time to grind through some game modes that will let you rack up TA points quickly.

Mini Seasons (Classic or TA-Specific)

Mini Seasons are one of the best ways to make fast progress. They reward you with TA Vouchers at the end of each season, which can be redeemed for big point boosts (up to 40,000 points). To make it even faster, play on Rookie difficulty at high-elevation parks, such as Costco or Shield Woods. This makes hitting missions go by a lot quicker.

Play vs CPU

If you prefer playing full 9-inning games, then playing against low-rated teams like the Nationals or White Sox is your best bet. This lets you knock out both pitching missions (e.g., 9 innings pitched or 10 strikeouts) and hitting missions (e.g., 100 total bases) in just one or two games. It’s efficient and gets you the most for your time.

Conquest

Don’t overlook Conquest. While it’s slower than the other methods, it allows you to passively earn TA progress while completing other objectives. Plus, you’ll get packs and unique rewards as you go along.

3. Optimized Mission Grinding

To grind efficiently, you need to stack your lineup and focus on the missions that give you the most value.

Stack Your Lineup

Create a custom squad made entirely of players from the division you're targeting. This ensures that every mission you complete counts toward multiple objectives at once.

Parallel XP (PXP) Missions

Some of the most rewarding missions come from Parallel XP (PXP). Focus on reaching the 500 PXP milestones with your first cards like "Jolt" or "Boss" cards. These provide significant boosts to your progress.

Double Up

If you have players from the World Baseball Classic (WBC) program, you can double up your rewards by counting them toward both your WBC and MLB team affinity progress. It’s an easy way to make progress on multiple fronts.

Pitching Focus

Pitching missions are typically easier and more predictable than hitting ones, especially in single-player modes. Start by completing the pitching missions for the teams with available pitcher cards. It’ll help you finish those faster and move on to the next stage.

4. Tracking and Efficiency

To stay on top of everything, it’s important to track your progress and make sure you’re maximizing every opportunity.

Rotate Players

Once a player has completed their specific mission, immediately swap them out for another TA card. This ensures you’re always working toward completing the next set of objectives and never wasting time.

Use the Companion App

Many players find it easier to track their mission progress using the official MLB The Show companion app. It’s more convenient than navigating through the in-game menus and allows you to track everything more efficiently.
