Hello everyone,
I just came back from a small trip to Nový Hrádek and thought I’d share a little about it. The town itself has this calm, almost timeless atmosphere, with narrow Pips NYT streets and views of the surrounding forests and hills. I spent most of my time just walking around, enjoying the mix of old houses and the ruins of Frymburk castle, which gave me that feeling of stepping back in history.
Food was another highlight. I stopped at a local spot where I had classic Czech dishes - svičková with dumplings and later some homemade koláče that tasted so fresh it reminded me of my grandmother’s baking. Simple, hearty, and perfect after a day of walking.
What I liked most was how quiet everything felt compared to bigger towns. No rush, just a kind of slow rhythm where you can actually take in your surroundings. If anyone’s into small, authentic Czech towns, I’d definitely recommend visiting.
Has anyone else been to Nový Hrádek or nearby places? Would love to hear what you enjoyed most there. |
