By the time you’ve hacked through the dense jungle of Ngakanu Island and stepped into The Heart of the Tribe, Tavakai’s waiting for you. He’s huge, slow, and every swing feels like it could smash you flat. Most of his moves are easy to spot before they hit, but if that chain pull lands, it can be a one-way ticket to the respawn screen. He’ll even wreck one of his own statues just to send sharp chunks flying around. The key here? Don’t hang out in front of him. Slip behind, stay there, and keep chipping away while most of his swings sail past. It’s worth learning his patterns, especially if you want to score some gear drops for PoE 2 Items , since this fight’s a solid source of vendor fodder. When his health dips to about halfway, he smashes the arena floor and things change fast.
Phase two kicks off in a wide, circular space under the sky, scattered with eight statues. Five of them wake up and start making life miserable. Expect Valako’s lightning strikes to slice through huge chunks of the arena, Rongokurai’s serpent leaving messy slowing puddles, and Arohongui’s steady ice beam slicing the middle in two. Tawhoa isn’t any kinder—vines cover nearly every inch, leaving only cramped little safe zones. Even with all that chaos, your plan doesn’t need a rewrite. Keep Tavakai in front of you only long enough to dodge sideways, then move back behind him. Watch for when he’s locked in to a big animation and punish those openings, because charging in mid-swing can end badly.
By phase three, Tavakai’s not just bigger—he’s downright monstrous, covered in jagged spikes and swinging with much more reach. Every hit seems to leave a mess on the ground that’s just waiting to hurt you. The statues keep their powers active, so you’re dancing between hazards the whole time. His windups are longer now, which is your only real breathing space. That’s your chance to dash in, drop your hardest-hitting skills or damage-over-time effects, then roll or leap out before the blow lands. If you’re running melee, you’ll need extra patience here, but even for ranged players it’s about timing. Stick to that, stay focused, and you’ll watch him fall—along with his loot, ready for you to grab and maybe trade for cheap PoE 2 Items. |
