When I visited Kyiv by myself, taking a structured walking tour was the absolute best way to orient myself. I managed to book an incredible hidden courtyards walk where a local guide showed us secret murals and crow cages tucked away in old town residential blocks that I never would have spotted on my own. It made it incredibly easy to compare durations and route maps. Walking with a small group was a very relaxed, casual way to swap travel tips with other tourists and get direct food recommendations from a local guide.
